AACR President David Tuveson to Testify Before Congressional Subcommittee in Support of NIH and NCI Funding
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, David Tuveson, MD, PhD, FAACR, will testify before the U.S. House Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies on behalf of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR). Tuveson is President of the AACR.
In his testimony during the subcommittee’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 Public Witness Day Hearing, Tuveson will call for increased funding for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI). His remarks outline some of the challenges facing cancer research today and highlight why robust federal funding for basic, translational, and clinical research is essential for continued progress against cancer.
