History of AACR Publishing
Starting with the world’s first English-language cancer journal in 1916, AACR scientific publications have provided a forum for discoveries that span the breadth of basic, translational, clinical, and epidemiological cancer research. In 2016, the AACR celebrated two major publishing milestones: the 100th anniversary of its publishing program, and the 75th anniversary of Cancer Research, the most frequently cited cancer journal in the world.
These anniversaries were commemorated at the AACR Annual Meeting 2016, April 16-20, in New Orleans, Louisiana. The publishing centennial was featured in a special walk-through exhibit at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. The panels from that display feature milestones from the history of AACR journals as well as highly cited and historical classic articles. The anniversary of Cancer Research was highlighted in a special publication that was made available to Annual Meeting attendees.
