AACR-Novocure Discovery Grants
April 2, 2019 - Grant recipient must attend the Grants Reception and Dinner to formally accept the grant. Funds for travel support to this Annual Meeting will be provided separate from the grant.
Novocure and the AACR are proud to announce the inaugural AACR-Novocure Discovery Grants. These grants represent a joint effort to promote and support innovative research focused on Tumor Treating Fields (TTFields), which are intermediate frequency, low intensity, alternating electric fields that disrupt cell division in cancer cells. These grants are intended to provide a deeper understanding of the mechanisms of action of this novel anti-cancer treatment modality and to accelerate the development of novel treatment strategies to advance therapeutic options for cancer. The research proposed for funding must be focused on the preclinical application of TTFields in cancer and may be basic or translational in nature.
Applications are invited from researchers affiliated with institutions* that already have the InovitroTM TTFields Lab Bench System from Novocure (*please see the list of approved institutions on page 13 of the Program Guidelines document).
Each grant provides $25,000 over one year for expenses related to the research project. Grant funds may be used for research expenses attributable to the project, which may include supplemental salary support, equipment, research/laboratory supplies, and other research expenses (indirect costs not permitted).
Program Guidelines and Application Instructions are available in PDF format.
Research projects should examine the preclinical use of TTFields as a therapeutic modality. Projects may be basic or translational in nature. TTFields can be used alone or in combinations with other agents.
Applications are invited from researchers affiliated with institutions* that already have the InovitroTM TTFields Lab Bench System from Novocure (*please see the list of approved institutions on page 13 of the Program Guidelines document).
Applicants must have a doctoral degree (including PhD, MD, DO, DC, ND, DDS, DVM, ScD, DNS, PharmD, or equivalent) in a related field and not currently be a candidate for a further doctoral degree.
Applications will be accepted from independent investigators who are affiliated with an institution that already has the InovitroTM TTFields Lab Bench System, and who are bound by the provisions of a Materials Transfer Agreement with Novocure in effect for the entire duration of the project to be performed pursuant to the grant hereunder (and Novocure and such grant recipient (or institution) shall enter into an amendment to the existing Materials Transfer Agreement, to include such project, to the extent required by Novocure).
