Message from the WICR Council

Our sincere thanks to the many WICR members and attendees who joined us for the WICR Council Meet and Greet, visited the WICR Networking and Resource Center, participated in various WICR-sponsored programs, and contributed to the overall success of our activities in Orlando, Florida, during the AACR Annual Meeting 2023.

WICR remains committed to recognizing women’s scientific achievements and fostering their career development and advancement in cancer research. Information on newly elected members to the council, ways for members to get involved, and other WICR initiatives will be shared in the next WICR Alert.

For now, let’s celebrate some of the significant accomplishments from this year’s AACR Annual Meeting. Below are some of the highlights.

I am delighted to serve as your WICR Council Chairperson for the 2023-2024 term. For many years I’ve supported WICR’s mission is to support the recognition and career advancement of our 23,000 members and this is an exciting time for women in science. In this issue we have opportunities for you to get involved, apply for grants, travel awards and much more!
