Abstract 2051: Race as a predictive confounder in the rate of transdifferentiation and drug response in human pancreatic acinar ductal metaplasia
What are your long-term career objectives?
Corey Perkins is a fourth-year PhD candidate at the University of Florida studying the initiating event of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), acinar ductal metaplasia (ADM), in relation to health disparities. She studies this event by using a 3D organoid model that utilizes both primary, healthy and diseased pancreata tissue derived from mice and humans. She aspires to scale-up to tumor organoid models for PDAC or additional cancers and perform drug screenings in her postdoctoral work.
