AACR Statement on Tonight’s State of the Union Address

PHILADELPHIA – American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) President Philip D. Greenberg, MD, FAACR, and AACR CEO Margaret Foti, PhD, MD (hc), issued the following statement on President Biden’s State of the Union address this evening:

“The AACR applauds President Biden’s continued commitment to improving cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. The reignited Cancer Moonshot is already at work providing a whole-of-government approach to end cancer as we know it. Additionally, the National Cancer Plan provides a comprehensive framework for all stakeholders in the cancer community to accelerate progress. The AACR looks forward to working with the administration and Congress to continue to “do big things” and implement this plan so that we might achieve President Biden’s long-standing goal of reducing cancer mortality by half in the next 25 years.”
