Media Resources

The AACR will host its 116th Annual Meeting from April 25-30, 2025, at McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois. Resources for journalists and public information officers (PIOs) covering the AACR Annual Meeting can be found below.

PRESS AND PIO REGISTRATION

The AACR provides complimentary meeting registration to professional journalists and PIOs from cancer centers, academic institutions, government agencies, and nonprofit cancer research organizations. Registration is available for in-person attendance in Chicago or remote participation through the virtual meeting platform.

Journalists planning to cover the meeting must register through the AACR public relations team using the form linked below to receive the embargoed press program and other important communications.

Please carefully review the AACR’s full Press and PIO Registration Policies before requesting registration. After you submit the form, a member of the AACR public relations team will review your eligibility and follow up with next steps.

Housing in Chicago

To book an individual or group housing reservation, visit the Accommodations and Travel section on the AACR Annual Meeting website. The deadline for reserving a hotel room has been extended through Tuesday, April 1.

For assistance, AACR Housing agents can be reached in the U.S. and Canada at 888-381-7166 or, for international callers, at 415-979-2262. Agents are available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. ET.

PRESS CONFERENCES

Press conferences featuring noteworthy research from the AACR Annual Meeting will be held in Room E353A at the convention center. They are scheduled for the following times:

  • Sunday, April 27
    11 a.m. CT
  • Monday, April 28
    8 a.m. CT
  • Tuesday, April 29
    8 a.m. CT

The press conferences will be simultaneously broadcast through Zoom webinar for virtual attendees.

PRESS ROOM AND BADGE PICKUP

The press room will be in Room E353B at the convention center. Hours of operation are as follows:

  • Friday, April 25
    12-6 p.m. CT
  • Saturday, April 6-Tuesday, April 29
    7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. CT
  • Wednesday, April 30
    7:30 a.m.-12 p.m. CT

Registered media and PIOs can pick up their meeting badges in the press room.

interview rooms and filming

A limited number of private interview rooms are available at the convention center. Journalists are allowed to use a room for up to two hours per day. To reserve space in one of these rooms, please contact Julia DeMalto at julia.demalto@aacr.org.

Journalists are welcome to film within the immediate vicinity of the press room. Reporters who want to film outside of the press area must first get approval from the AACR public relations team. To submit a request, please contact Kathleen Medora at kathleen.medora@aacr.org.
