Resources for Cancer Center PIOs and Communications Staff
The AACR welcomes collaboration with public information officers (PIOs) and other communications professionals from cancer centers, academic institutions, government agencies, and nonprofit cancer research organizations. See below for ways to work with the AACR.
AACR Scientific Meetings and Conferences
The AACR hosts numerous scientific meetings and conferences each year, the largest of which is the AACR Annual Meeting. The AACR is also the co-sponsor of the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium. These events are regularly covered by national and international press, generating top-tier news coverage. Attending these meetings offers an excellent opportunity to meet and work alongside health and science reporters as well as communications colleagues from other institutions.
PIOs are welcome to register for access to meeting press rooms. Each institution is allowed up to two complimentary registrations.
Learn MoreAACR JOURNAL PRESS RELEASES
The AACR publishes 10 peer-reviewed scientific journals. If you are interested in promoting a paper published in an AACR journal, please contact Richard Lobb at [email protected] to place a hold on publication and set an embargo date. We recommend you do this as soon as your researcher hears that their paper has been accepted, as papers typically publish online quickly.
