AACR Blog Features Timely Post for Cervical Cancer Awareness Month

PHILADELPHIA – In recognition of January as Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) recently published a post on the AACR’s official blog, Cancer Research Catalyst, about expanding worldwide access to cervical cancer prevention, screening, and treatment. In this post, author Calley Jones, PhD, shares global cervical cancer statistics; discusses recent studies that explore improving screening and vaccine access; and highlights the work of AACR NextGen Star Chemtai Mungo, MD, MPH. Mungo is currently testing the feasibility of a self-administered intravaginal chemotherapy treatment for patients with high-grade cervical lesions in Kenya.
