AACR Cancer Experts Forecast Research and Treatment Advances for 2022
PHILADELPHIA – Cancer Research Catalyst, the official blog of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), started the new year with a post titled “Experts Forecast Cancer Research and Treatment Advances in 2022.”
In the post, five eminent AACR experts share their thoughts on potential breakthroughs in cancer research in the coming year:
- Lisa Coussens, PhD, FAACR, AACR President-Elect, discusses priorities for basic research;
- Luis Diaz Jr., MD, AACR board member and co-editor-in-chief of Cancer Discovery, shares his thoughts on precision immunotherapy;
- Michael Pollak, MD, co-editor-in-chief of Cancer Prevention Research, and Avrum Spira, MD, deputy editor of Cancer Prevention Research, provide insight into the future of cancer prevention; and
- John Carpten, PhD, FAACR, AACR board member and former Annual Meeting Program Chair, discusses initiatives to increase diversity of the biomedical workforce and improve representation in preclinical and clinical research to address the ongoing challenge of cancer disparities.
