WHO:
James Van Cleef and Mark Bayliss started Riding for Adam to honor Adam Van Cleef, James’ son and Mark’s nephew. In 2016, Adam was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma, a rare form of cancer. He passed away in 2018 at just 23 years old.
Since Adam’s diagnosis, Riding for Adam has raised nearly $350,000 for cancer research through rides in the U.K. and Spain. James and Mark’s current ride is the sixth and final ride of the Riding for Adam fundraising effort, and the first in the U.S.
The AACR will receive the funds that the Riding for Adam team raises on their ride across the U.S. Those interested in the Riding for Adam journey can follow along on Facebook and Twitter, and donate directly to the campaign at www.aacr.org/ridingforadam. More information about the AACR’s DIY Fundraising initiative and resources is available on the AACR website.
