Deadline Approaching: Reserve SABCS Housing by Monday, November 18

SAN ANTONIO – In four weeks, UT Health San Antonio and the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) will host the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium 2024 (SABCS) from December 10-13 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas. Credentialed news media interested in covering the symposium can request complimentary in-person or virtual registration.

HOUSING DEADLINE IS MONDAY, NOVEMBER 18

For individuals planning to attend SABCS in person, the deadline to make hotel reservations through SABCS Housing is Monday, November 18. To book an individual or group housing reservation, visit the Hotels section of the SABCS website. For assistance, please contact [email protected] or call 1-888-503-5890 or 1-801-214-7281.

MEDIA REGISTRATION

All journalists planning to cover the meeting must register through the SABCS public relations team via the form linked below to receive the embargoed press program and other important communications. Registration is required regardless of whether you are attending in person or virtually.

PRESS OPERATIONS

Media Badge Pickup at Registration Area in Main Entrance

Registered reporters can pick up badges in the registration area at the convention center’s main entrance starting at noon on Monday, December 9. There is a special booth designated for media badges. Once you arrive in the press room, check in at the front desk to receive a press ribbon.

Press Conferences from December 11-13 in Room 217D

Three press conferences will be held in Room 217D at the convention center and simultaneously broadcast via Zoom for virtual attendees. Press conferences will take place at the following times:

  • Wednesday, December 11
    7:15 a.m. CT
  • Thursday, December 12
    7:15 a.m. CT
  • Friday, December 13
    7:15 a.m. CT

The press room will be located in Room 217A-C at the convention center. Hours of operation are as follows:

    12 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. CT
  • Wednesday, December 11
    6:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. CT
  • Thursday, December 12
    6:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. CT
  • Friday, December 13
    6:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. CT

Interview Space and Recording Policy

Journalists are welcome to film in the hallway in the immediate vicinity of the press room. There are also a limited number of private interview rooms available at the convention center that have a daily limit of 2 hours per outlet. To reserve space in one of these rooms, please contact Julia DeMalto at [email protected].

EMBARGO POLICY

Individuals registered as press for SABCS agree to abide by all embargoes. Please review the SABCS embargo policy.

With the exception of studies selected for the press program, regular and late-breaking abstract text will be posted to the SABCS website on Monday, November 25, at 4:30 p.m. CT.

Regular and late-breaking abstract titles are already available on the SABCS website.

Abstracts selected for the official SABCS press program are embargoed until date and time of presentation during the symposium, either at an official SABCS press conference or in a scientific session. Press program abstracts and press releases will be shared with registered reporters approximately a week in advance of the meeting and made publicly available once the embargoes lift.
