I obtained my B.Sc. in Chemistry followed by a M.Sc. in Biochemistry and a Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry with a focus on breast cancer prevention from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Currently, I am an American Cancer Society postdoctoral fellow in Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center at Northwestern University. I am passionate about cancer research and have been involved with advocacy programs for increase in research funding. As a registered voter and a female scientist, I would like to directly communicate with government officials to further bring the importance of sustained research funding to their attention.
