Abstract 7613: “The non-canonical role of Rb in enhancers and insulators”
What are your long-term career goals?
Through my years at my institution, I have discovered an unwavering fascination with the principles that govern cellular function. However, as the field progresses, the divergence between models created through the molecular biological approach in the 1970s-80s and the heterogeneous observations found in data-driven research in the 2010s-20s has become more apparent. My goal as a biologist is to combine these approaches to uncover the link between genotypes and phenotypes, and how cellular processes regulate that link. Specifically, I am drawn to the cell cycle, which I believe is the key to a cell’s survival and evolutionary selection.
