Michael V. Fiandalo, PhD, MBA, PMP, is a scientist, project manager, and apprentice blacksmith. He is the Assistant Director, Project Management for the AACR GENIE® Coordinating Center and has been with Project GENIE® since 2021.
Before joining the AACR, Fiandalo was an instructor of oncology (Young Faculty Appointment) at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in the Urology Department. His more than 15 years’ experience in the field of steroid metabolism and prostate cancer led to the identification of three compounds currently under pre-clinical development. At Roswell Park he developed and implemented post-doctoral and graduate student training programs. Fiandalo transitioned to Clinical Research Services as a regulatory research coordinator where he simultaneously oversaw development of the three newly discovered compounds and managed the regulatory components of 96 active pediatric clinical trials, with start-up of 10 additional new trials.
Fiandalo firmly believes in the AACR Project GENIE® initiative to produce clinicogenomic data that provides a window into a cancer patient’s journey to better understand therapeutic outcomes that can ultimately help direct physician decisions to better treat cancer patients.
