Robert H. Vonderheide, MD, DPhil
Dr. Vonderheide is the director of the University of Pennsylvania Abramson Cancer Center and the John H. Glick MD Abramson Cancer Center’s professor. Dr. Vonderheide is a leading authority on cancer immunology and immunotherapy and pancreatic cancer. He worked closely with Dr. Jaffee as co-Leader of a SU2C-Lustgarten Pancreatic Cancer Dream Team that developed and performed five clinical trials of novel immunotherapy involving more than 600 patients with pancreatic cancer. Specific for this project, Dr. Vonderheide and his laboratory have deep experience and expertise in tumor antigen discovery, epitope prediction, DC vaccination, and T cell cloning and adoptive T cell therapy – spanning from laboratory work to clinical trials. Prior to becoming director of the Abramson Cancer Center, he was director of Penn’s Pancreatic Cancer Research Center.
