Financial Support for Attendance

Individuals may apply for as many awards for which they qualify but may receive a maximum of one award for this meeting. The number of awards and amount of each award provided will be based on available funding. Applicants will be notified of their award status approximately five weeks after the application deadline.

Applications for Scholar-in-Training Awards for the 2024 AACR Special Conference in Cancer Research: Optimizing Therapeutic Efficacy and Tolerability through Cancer Chemistry- Scholar-in-Training Award Application will be accepted until Tuesday September 24, 2024. To apply for a Scholar-in-Training Award, applicants must first submit their abstract, and then complete a Scholar-in-Training Award Application.

Applicants will be asked to provide the title of their submitted abstract, CV (including a list of publications), and a short personal statement describing their research area and interests, current work setting, reasons for attending this conference, and career aspirations. 

Eligibility
  • Applicants must be an Associate Member of the AACR in good standing. Nonmember graduate students, medical students and residents, and clinical or postdoctoral fellows who wish to apply for a Scholar-in-Training Award must submit an application that satisfies the eligibility requirements for AACR Associate Membership 30 days prior to the Scholar-in-Training Award application deadline. Nonmembers can apply for membership by downloading the Official Application for Membership and submitting to the AACR office with the required documents or apply online. Lapsed members are encouraged to reinstate their membership in order to apply for this exclusive member benefit. Visit the aacr.org/membership.
  • Applicant must be the presenter of the abstract submitted for the conference
  • To provide this opportunity to the greatest number of trainees, eligibility is limited to individuals who have not received a Scholar-in-Training Award for a conference (excluding the Annual Meeting) in the 12 months prior to the first day of this conference.
