Register for On Demand ViewingThe American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) is pleased to convene an interactive roundtable discussion of the third AACR Cancer Disparities Progress Report. This landmark report features the latest research on disparities in cancer incidence, diagnosis, treatment, and survival. The report highlights the progress that has been made to reduce cancer disparities and provides policy recommendations to address many of the remaining barriers to achieving health equity. In addition, the report features the stories of several survivors and the challenges they have faced.
The AACR Cancer Disparities Progress Report has been developed by preeminent cancer disparities researchers across the country and builds upon the AACR’s longstanding commitment to reducing cancer disparities through research, education, and policy, including our annual conference on the Science of Cancer Health Disparities.

First published in 2020, this trailblazing biennial report raises awareness of the enormous toll that cancer exacts on racial and ethnic minority groups and other medically underserved populations in the United States; highlights underlying causes of cancer disparities as well as promising trends in reducing these inequities; and emphasizes the need for continued research and collaborations to ensure that advances against cancer benefit all patients, regardless of their race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic status, or geographic location. Each report features compelling personal stories from cancer survivors of various backgrounds; these stories underscore the vital importance of funding meritorious cancer research and enacting legislation to achieve health equity, which is a fundamental human right.
