Organizations, Agencies, and Websites
Sources of information and support within the cancer community can sometimes seem hard to find, and at other times the options are overwhelming. We’ve organized more than a hundred resources here to make it easier for you to identify the information, services and assistance you’re trying to find. Search below for information on cancer-related nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups, government agencies, research and professional organizations, and informational websites.
The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) provides a toll-free information hotline and maintains a website for ovarian cancer support and resources, including information about clinical trials. The coalition also offers information specifically for newly diagnosed patients and caregivers. The NOCC has built a network of chapters in many states across the United States.
Native American Cancer Research seeks to reduce cancer incidence and mortality in Native Americans. It offers culturally sensitive information and support to Native Americans living with cancer. The organization’s website includes information on clinical trials and treatment as well as materials and support for caregivers.
The Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation is dedicated to discovering cures for carcinoid, pancreatic neuroendocrine and related neuroendocrine cancers. Along with its focus on research, it supports patients and caregivers by providing them with complete and up-to-date information. The Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation directs all individual donations to breakthrough scientific research.

Nueva Vida consists of Latina breast cancer survivors and Latino health care professionals who are committed to providing culturally sensitive support services for Latinas living with cancer in the Washington-metropolitan area. Nueva Vida offers support, education and resources in Spanish and English.

The Oklahoma Brain Tumor Foundation (OKBTF) provides financial assistance, support groups, and family and caregiver education for Oklahoma people affected by primary brain or central nervous system tumors. The organization also informs patients about clinical trials and oncologists located in the region. The OKBTF works to meet patients’ needs through education, advocacy, research and service.

Oncolink is a website of cancer resources operated by the University of Pennsylvania. It provides information on cancers by type and cancer treatment options. The website also offers information about support and survivorship. The Oncolink website has an Ask the Experts page through which survivors can pose questions to the University of Pennsylvania’s team of cancer experts.
Ovarian Cancer Canada provides ovarian cancer education and support to the people of Canada. It publishes a quarterly newsletter, which is available by email, and it hosts support group meetings for women with ovarian cancer. It also provides support for the friends and families of women with ovarian cancer. All of Ovarian Cancer Canada’s services are available in English and French.
The Ovarian Cancer National Alliance (OCNA) provides educational resources for survivors. It helps women with ovarian cancer deal with insurance and financial issues and provides a support network for them. OCNA focuses on four key areas: public education, public policy, research, and communication.
The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF) promotes and raises funds for ovarian cancer research and the development of a tool for early diagnosis. The organization also offers support and information to patients, family members and the public. It offers an informational hotline that is staffed by volunteers, many of whom are ovarian cancer survivors.
