Honorary Membership
Honorary Membership is open to distinguished individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to the advancement of cancer research either through outstanding personal scientific activity or through exceptional leadership in cancer research.
Responsibilities of Membership
AACR Honorary Members are not required to pay annual membership dues. In addition, Honorary Members receive a complimentary subscription each year to one AACR journal: Cancer Discovery; Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention; Cancer Prevention Research; Cancer Research; Clinical Cancer Research; Molecular Cancer Research; and Molecular Cancer Therapeutics and free access to the online version of AACR’s newest journal, Cancer Immunology Research. Members may subscribe to more than one journal at the special reduced member rates.
Guidelines for Nomination for Honorary Membership
The AACR Honorary Membership Committee is responsible for assisting with the nomination and selection process for those candidates recommended for this prestigious category of membership.
AACR members are encouraged to complete the AACR Honorary Membership Nomination form in order to nominate candidates for consideration as Honorary Members. Recommendations will be forwarded to the Honorary Membership Committee for consideration. Nominators may be contacted if further information is required.
The report of this committee shall be submitted to the board of directors. The election of honorary members shall be conducted by secret ballot of the members of the board of directors and shall require a two-thirds favorable vote.
