Philip Leder
Philip Leder, MD, FAACR, a pioneering molecular biologist and geneticist and a Fellow of the AACR Academy, died February 2, 2020, at the age of 85.
Paul A. Marks
Paul A. Marks, MD, a Fellow of the AACR Academy who translated his passion for molecular biology into transformative leadership of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, died April 28, 2020, at the age of 93.
Mortimer L. Mendelsohn
Mortimer L. Mendelsohn, MD, PhD, a renowned biosciences professor and researcher, died January 8, 2020, at the age of 94.
Takashi Sugimura
Takashi Sugimura, MD, a pioneer in biochemistry, a Fellow of the AACR Academy, and a major international figure in cancer research, died Sept. 6, 2020, at the age of 94.
Isabelle Tabah-Fisch
Isabelle Tabah-Fisch, MD, a medical oncologist who contributed greatly to drug development, died August 28, 2020, at age 64.
Mansukh C. Wani
Mansukh C. Wani, PhD, an AACR emeritus member whose research led to the discovery of the anticancer therapeutics Taxol and camptothecin, died April 11, 2020, at the age of 95.
Earle Frederick Wheelock
Earle Frederick Wheelock, MD, PhD, a longtime member of the AACR, died Aug. 4, 2020, at the age of 93.
John W. Yarbro
John W. Yarbro, MD, PhD, a longtime member of the AACR who held leadership roles at several major cancer institutions, passed away April 13, 2020, at age 88.
