Gustavo A. Arias-Pinilla
Gustavo A. Arias-Pinilla, MBBS, MSc, PhD, an Associate member of the AACR, died April 21, 2022, at the age of 33.
Leslie Bernstein, PhD
Leslie Bernstein, PhD, a pioneer in the field of cancer epidemiology and prevention, died July 28, 2022, at the age of 82.
Audrey E. Evans
Audrey E. Evans, MD, a pioneering pediatric oncologist and a cofounder of the Ronald McDonald House, died September 29, 2022, at the age of 97.
James W. Flesher
Dr. James W. Flesher, a longtime AACR member, died July 3, 2022, at the age of 97.
Robert J. Gillies
Robert J. Gillies, PhD, a pioneer in radiomics whose discoveries spanned multiple disciplines of cancer research, died June 7, 2022, at the age of 69.
Jill Hamer-Wilson
Jill Hamer-Wilson, research advocate and cancer survivor, passed away November 13, 2022. Jill was a first-time participant in the 2019 Scientist↔Survior Program, a prior member of AACR, and was also featured in the 2020 Philanthropy Brief.
Robert E. Handschumacher
Dr. Robert E. Handschumacher, PhD, a longterm AACR Emeritus Member and past AACR Secretary-Treasurer, died September 28, 2022.
Paul Kleihues
Paul Kleihues, MD, AACR Emeritus member, passed away March 17, 2022, at the age of 85.
Shoshana Levy
Shoshana Levy, PhD, a longtime cancer researcher, professor, and mentor to women in science, died November 16, 2022, at the age of 83.
Malcolm Roff MacKenzie
Malcolm Roff MacKenzie, MD, AACR Emeritus member, passed away on October 6, 2022, at the age of 87.
