Gina Lee
Gina Lee, PhD, an assistant professor of microbiology and molecular genetics at the University of California, Irvine (UCI), a member of the UCI Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, and an AACR member since 2009, died June 23, 2024. She was 39 years old.
Karen T. Liby
Karen T. Liby, a longtime AACR member who was the Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Professor of Hematology-Oncology at Indiana University’s Melvin and Bren Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center, died November 15, 2024, at the age of 52.
Edith P. Mitchell
Edith P. Mitchell, MD, an oncologist, the enterprise vice president for cancer disparities at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center (SKCC) in Philadelphia, and a retired brigadier general in the U.S. Air Force, died recently at the age of 76.
Lee Roy Morgan, Jr.
Lee Roy Morgan, Jr., MD, PhD, a retired clinical pharmacologist and oncologist and an AACR member for 58 years, died October 22, 2023. He was 86 years old.
Andrew V. Schally
Andrew V. Schally, PhD, FAACR, who shared the 1977 Nobel Prize in Medicine or Physiology for his discoveries on endocrine signaling in the nervous system, died October 17, 2024, at the age of 97.
Maxine Frank Singer
Maxine Frank Singer, PhD, FAACR, former president of the Carnegie Institution of Science and former chief of the Laboratory of Biochemistry at the National Cancer Institute, died July 9, 2024. She was 93.
Jeffrey S. Weber
Jeffrey S. Weber, MD, PhD, deputy director of the Perlmutter Cancer Center at NYU Langone and co-leader of its Clinical Melanoma Program, professor of oncology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, and an Emeritus member of the AACR, died August 18, 2024, at the age of 72.
R. Michael Williams
R. Michael Williams, MD, PhD, an oncologist in Modesto, California, former chief medical officer of Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA), and a member of the AACR since 1979, died July 18, 2024. He was 77 years old.
