CONGRATULATIONS TO DR. ELIZABETH SWISHER ON HER ELECTION AS THE NEXT CPWG WORKING GROUP CHAIR

On behalf of the AACR and Cancer Prevention Working Group (CPWG), we are pleased to announce that after an extremely competitive election, Elizabeth Swisher, MD, has been elected as the next CPWG Working Group Chair. Dr. Swisher will be appointed the 2025-2026 CPWG Working Group Chair-elect at the 2025 CPWG Town Hall Meeting during the 2025 AACR Annual Meeting, and transition to the role of CPWG Chair at the 2026 AACR Annual Meeting for the 2026-2028 term. During this time, she will be working with Dr. Marcia Cruz-Correa, current CPWG Chair, to continue driving population sciences initiatives forward.
Mission
The mission of the AACR Cancer Prevention Working Group (CPWG) is to spotlight and strengthen awareness of cancer prevention as an essential mechanism in cancer control and to establish cancer prevention as a global priority supported by improved funding, the very latest technologies and best educational strategies.
The AACR Cancer Prevention Working Group will provide a forum for communication and collaboration among basic, translational, and clinical scientists, physicians, nurses, as well as practicing medical, surgical, and oncologists in academia, industry, and government.
The group will work to assist in facilitating basic, translational and clinical trans-disciplinary research aimed at promoting the expansion and understanding of cancer prevention science.
