Please join the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) for a briefing on Wednesday, September 13 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., for the release of the AACR Cancer Progress Report 2023. This 13th edition of the Cancer Progress Report follows NCI’s release of the National Cancer Plan, a framework for achieving the goals set by President Biden’s Cancer Moonshot which leverages a whole-of-government approach to end cancer as we know it. The Cancer Progress Report is a cornerstone of the AACR’s efforts to educate policymakers and the broader public about cancer, highlight the remarkable progress we are making against the disease, and advocate for robust, sustained, and predictable annual funding increases for the NIH, NCI, FDA, and CDC. Specifically, the report underscores how recent advances across the clinical cancer care continuum—in particular immunotherapy and molecularly-targeted therapies— are helping cancer patients and their loved ones. The 2023 report also focuses on the ways the cancer research community is addressing the needs of the rapidly expanding population of cancer survivors, as well as the disparities in cancer incidence, mortality, and access to care that still affect certain populations.
Registration for in-person attendance is now closed.
